Because it markets itself as healthier and hipper than the rest, Chipotle charges $7-$8 for a burrito which includes no drink or any side dish. You can get tap water for free, but if you want a bottled water or anything else, it will cost at least another $1.50. And if you add guacamole it's an extra $2. So it's an average of $10-$12 to eat at Chipotle. Is it really that much better than other fast food, which is closer to $6-$7 per meal?
It's certainly not any healthier. The burritos are loaded with sodium. In addition, they, heavy on cheese, beans, rice and goopy sour cream, with little meat. You end up with a burrito that's bursting at the seams and 1,000+ calories if you load up on fixin's. Yet to not load up on the fixin's means your $8 burrito is more like a small snack. If they increased the amount of chicken/pork/beef they included, you could actually order a fajita burrito with peppers, onions, tomatoes, lettuce and salsa that would be half-decent and not so unhealthy.
