As costumer:
. They claim to have healthy food, it's not! they say it's all organic,it is NOT. Think about it, not too long ago, chipotle was taking a beating, getting criticized about their so-not-healthy way to prepare food, and all the sudden, Chipotle comes up with "Food with Integrity" , in other words, they were saying, DO NOT ask us about our CALORIES, nor the MAYOR ingredients in ALL our items (SALT, OIL!!) or the White rice, which is the unhealthiest type of rice, just ask us about Food with Integrity. I have my doubts about which type of food is more dangerous between a double cheese burger or a double meat burrito.
Chipotle Nutritional Information didn't exist until recently, and if you take a look, and do the math, you will realize that this kind of food is not so good after all, and the kids menu is a joke.
As a Worker for 6yrs:
(where should I start) Have you ever wonder what we do with the left overs at night? We dump them into the garbage. EVERY SINGLE SALSA goes to trash. PERFECTLY GOOD food is wasted. meat, salsas, cilantro, oregano, evrything is trash, and Chipotle is 100% ok with it. Because if a worker even proposes to take it home, that would be consider stealing and terminated at once. Chipotle pays just a little above minimun, thats true, but after that in order to get a dollar raise a worker will have to work for over 10 years, IM NOT EVEN KIDDING. My last raise was 9 cents.
Getting promoted does not involve being a good worker, but is more like whether the GM likes you or not, and is nearly imposible.
When I work the Grill position is a constant pressure, My managers expect me to work under Chipotle Precedures, but when I do, I ran out of food, because these Procedures does not work, and when I ran out of food i get in trouble, so I have to use shorcuts, and if the managers see me using shortcut I get in trouble too, So either way, Whether I work the Chipotle way or my way I run the risk to get fired.
I have seen sooo many peope getting fired for no reason. Chipotle gets so busy is virtually imposible to meet the food demand, but some how I gotta come up with something, and trying not to get caught.
Here's a true fact; part of the the meat you eat has workers sweat!! thats right, as we cutting the meat we sweat on it, as we lay the chicken on the grill we sweat too.
I read some of the criticisms of other people in this web site, and they all sound true, I have experienced so much shit in this company, i'm not surpised this web site exists. Couple years ago, some of my managers I used to look up to, got fired for some stupid reason or another, and I gotta admit, it made me feel so insignificant, so unimportant.
I always give the best for this company and I feel I don't get anything back,because I could be the best performer in my restaurant, but as soon as i do something bad, i'd be terminated.
WE dont smile at costumers because we happy, but because we have to.
I have worked in many restaurants before and Chipotle is by far the most Bipolar, unfair, undeveloped (managing speaking) place to work at.
