Completely retarded. If you're not Mexican and don't speak Spanish, no one will have anything to do with you. I was informed by my Spanish-speaking coworker that about half of the employees were undocumented, and while they do their jobs well and need the money, this is a shitty move on Chipotle's part in the current economy (considering all the American citizens who would happily slave away for minimum wage in a Chipotle kitchen in this job market). Nothing was ever done well enough for anyone, and if a manager was displeased you would be put on blast for it in front of coworkers AND customers, extremely degrading and humiliating work environment. One day there was literally a line out the door for two hours. I was doing the best I could to ring people up and get them out the line as quickly and amiably as possible. At the end of my shift I was called into the office informed that I was being let go because I hadn't managed to sweep the fucking dining room in the midst of the rush. I was one of three non-Latino employees and had worked there for just over a month. You do the math.
