I've been working for chipotle for a little over a year and just resigned recently. First off, if your not Mexican and can't speak Spanish, nobody wants anything to do with you, and if your a woman, the men (and even some of the managers) are quite sexist, but I needed the job and ignored it. It was kinda like office space if you make a mistake, with every single manager and there mom coming up to you to tell you of the mistake and how awful it was (being one minute early from break, giving "too much" meat on a burrito, yes, you are bitterly yelled at for giving a bit too much of our strick portions, but then you get angry looks from customers, which are suppose to be the first priority.) It kind of breaks you down after a while, people ask you for more food and you give a little more, and then the manager will pull you aside and yell at you, what can you do?
Another thing that finally made me quit was the lack of raise, even with me working there for over a year I was not offered a raise and I even questioned my manager about it, being told they cant do raises for another six months, so I'm now forced to wait another half year while new people are being hired at a dollar more then I'm making (eight bucks, by the way) I've narrowly missed paying for simple things like car insurance and gas because I couldn't afford it on the money and hours they where giving me, then this week (conveniently a week after I asked about said raise, I was called in and my job was threatened, I utterly had it and quit, I was then told by a friend the new management was getting rid of a lot of the old staff and these people have been there for quite a while and where all up for raises as well, it seems the management ,who actually has never worked for chipotle before and just started a month ago, which is funny because chipotle claims they don't hire managers outside of the company, gives you a false hope that anyone can be at the top... )
just quit working for them.
