Slaves in a Burrito Factory (what really goes on behind the glass)

I've been working at Chipotle for about a month, and after reading all the "Constructive Criticism" submissions, I can see the similarities with the Chipotle I currently work at.

I was trying to find a job and I figured since I knew the GM this would be the perfect job to get. I wish I would of found this site before I made that decision, which was clearly not a good one now that I've seen what actually goes on behind the glass at most if not all Chipotle restaurants.

One thing I noticed when I first started working there only a handful of the employees were helpful the rest were very rude and just pushed you out of the way. Now, that I'm use to it, I just ignore them. One employee in particular always tries to act as if he's the manager (barking orders at other employees, constantly critiquing what they do, etc). And the funny thing is, when he critiques what others are doing, the manager comes along and says do it a different way. This guy is a joke.

Moving on to the managers, most of my managers are nice to me and gives me good construct criticism that I can take. But one manager is prejudice and works the blacks and mexicans a lot harder than the white employees. And she's white, obviously. But, I'll literally get sent home two hours after working. One time I got lucky and got to work 3 hours. She's also a joke. And when a new kid came in to open, she said "If you have any questions, ask Joseph (a white employee), but not Chelsea (a black employee) because I don't want you to pick up on any bad habits."

Honestly, I'm a very hard worker, I probably work harder than most of the people in there, and they don't get written up for something stupid. But it's like even though I'm working hard and constantly being told I need to work harder, I want to say go over there and look how slow this kid is working, pick on him and lay off. But, sadly, I'd be terminated if I did that.

Sometimes I wonder if Chipotle managers and gm's looked at this site and read some of the submissions, if they'd change how they were acting.

The reason why they were probably promoted is because they're assholes to the employees.

Once I find another job, I'll be glad to let Chipotle go.
